SETTLEMENT DOCUMENT

            To the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Cold Higham  in the County Of Northampton   

             and to the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Duston In the said County of Northampton-               

                Whereas Complaint hath been made unto Us, whose Names are hereunto set, and Seals affixed, being Two of his majesty's Justices

            of the Peace an and for the County of Northampton  aforesaid, (one whereof being of the Quorum) by the Church-wardens and

             Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Cold Higham 

                That Richard Pinckard  and Elizabeth his wife_-----------------------------

          Have come to inhabit in the said Parish of Cold Higham not having gained a legal settlement there, nor having produced                      anyCertificate acknowledging them to be settled elsewhere, and may actually become chargable to the same; We the said Justices, upon             due proof made thereof, as well upon the Examination of the said Richard Pinckard----------Upon oath, as other Circumstances,            do adjudge the same to be true, and do also adjudge the place of the legal settlement of the said

        Richard Pinckard and Elizabeth his wife----------------

            To be in the Parish of Duston-------------------

            County of In  the Northampton-----------------

            These are therefore in His Majesty's Name to require you the said Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of

        Cold Higham or some  or one of you or any proper person or persons to be

        employed by you to remove and convey the said Richard Pinckard and

        Elizabeth his wife- from and out of your said Parish of Cold Higham to the said Parish of Duston

        and them deliver unto the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to any or one of them , together with this our Order,

             or a true Copy hereof, who are hereby required  to receive and provide for them according to law.

            Given under our Hands and Seals, the twenty fifth Day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand 

            Eight Hundred and twenty one
